“How does one really describe Joe Pruett's impact on the independent comics community?
Having cut his teeth at Caliber Comics under Gary himself, Joe took all of the lessons Gary
would teach the whole of the comic community over the years. Chief among those lessons
being that the comics world can only exist if those that came before are willing to share their
knowledge and experiences. Joe is a phenomenal writer in his own regard, I mean how many people can successfully adapt a story originally created by Neil Gaiman! However, Joe has found his calling as the publisher at Aftershock Comics. Aftershock is continually putting out unique comics that push the medium forward. Joe's influence is blatantly evident on every title and the creators lucky enough to work with Aftershock are better creators for the experience. For all of these reasons and so many more, I am nominating Joe Pruett for this prestigious award!”
